Happy Saturday!

Just a quick post :) Hope you're off to a great start to your weekend. Grace is slowly starting to feel better and she got up this morning at 5 a.m. so that gave me some open time to make Abby's babushkah! It was so fun to do. Now I need to make one for Grace and I think the baby will definitely need a mini version ;)

I also thought that for a change I'd leave you with a link to something that I'll probably never create, LOL. I just don't get it!!!

Here's what I'm making for dinner tomorrow :) My Mom made this almost every Sunday when I was a kid and I think that I've only made it once since I've been married (almost 8 years). I think it's time to make it ;) Maybe I'll also do peach cobbler since that was almost always our Sunday desert MMMMMM!

Now I need to put the sewing away for a bit and get working on some Valentine digi fun! You'll see soon ;) xoxo until next time!

TGIF!

Can you believe twice in one week:) Thanks for all of your sweet comments on my last post. You guys are super sweet to keep reading my blog and I really appreciate the comments! This week has been pretty nice and relaxing other than the fact that I have to leave the house and it's been below 0 degrees the whole week! I'm really ready for Spring!!!

Grace came home from school sick yesterday. I could tell that it has been building little by little over the last few days and now she has a sore throat and fever. The problem with her is that she won't admit that she's sick because then she'll have to take medicine. It the really good kind too (grape flavored candy-like Tylenol). Some kids, lol.

It was my sister-in-law's 19th birthday the other day and we bought her a gift card to itunes to go along with her new ipod. I also made her this little flower pillow (her room is green and aqua). Super fun and it only took 30 mintues or so. I think I'll have to make a few for Grace and Abby's beds.

My friend came over yesterday so that I could help her make some little baby maryjanes! We made three little pairs and now I'm itching to make some more for myself. I've got babushka fabric covering my kitchen table at the moment though so I better get that done first :)

If you can believe it I scrapped two layouts in the last 24 hours! Mostly using Emily's fabulous creations! Here they are:

I also wanted to leave you with another yummy family recipe! This comes from Holly and I haven't made it yet, but can testify that it's delicious. I think that the name says it all.

Have a great weekend everyone! xoxo until next time!

P.S. I just noticed this on Elsie's blog!!!! I can't wait to get my hands on it!

My stuff :)

Hey digi friends and anyone else to happens to pass on through. Yes I have been a bad blogger :( Sorry about that little vacation :) So my brain has been in a state of craft overload lately. I need to make a list of all of the fun things that I want to make so that I can get organized and not forget. The internet is killing me lately!! There are just too many fun patterns and ideas out there. Here are a few pics of a few things I've been doing :)

The first pic is of Kate's first pair of homemade maryjanes! So much fun to make and oh-so-tiny. I also finally made a headband on Saturday and it was so fun and easy. Now I'm going to have to make some for the girls! This last pic is of something that I made for Emily's little Bryleigh (in the mail tomorrow Emily) so if you don't know what it is click here! Just a few small things, but I'm having a great time sewing and doing some embroidery too:) Speaking of Emily, go check out her super cute babushkas (also on my list of things to do). Here's something else that's inspiring me at the moment.

I've been also working on some recipes for a family cookbook! My Mom, sisters-in-law, and I combined all of our favorite recipes to make a book at we're going to every year. There are some super yummy recipes that I'll have to start posting. Here's what the cover of the book will be sporting.

and here's a fun new recipe that I'm loving! I don't feel too guilty chowing it down because the apple slices are good for me, lol (doesn't that cancel out the bad?)

Did I mention that today I'm 32 weeks pregnant!!! Only two months to go!!!

Okay I guess that's all for now:) Oh yeah here's a layout that I did a few days ago.

I hope you're all doing great! xoxo until next time!

Here's to a HEALTHY 2008!

It seems like it's been way too long blog buddies!! I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! We really had a great time, but for some reason I just kept feeling like I couldn't wait for it to be over and have life back to normal. I hope that doesn't sound bad, lol. I just can't wait to really start 2008! I feel like there' so much to work on and so much to look forward to. Corey is going to California for the week next week to train for his new job and I'm looking forward to getting that week over with:) I told Grace that we couldn't get ready for the new baby until Christmas was over so now she's dying to get started, lol. We still have 2 1/2 months, but Grace can't wait any long to start decorating the baby's room with pictures that she drew. Kate's going to have a totally wallpapered room by the time Grace is done.

I got some fun things for Christmas that really make me smile. First of all Corey bought me a few new books that I haven't been able to put down for a second! I never thought I'd really get into a book about vampires, but I'm a TOTAL sucker for romance! I also bought myself a gift (Corey doesn't know, lol). We had a super small gift budget this year so I got Corey a few things and wasn't expecting much for myself, but he surprised me with a new sewing machine!!! It was also funny that all of the girls in the family opened up gift certificates for pedicures (from Corey's parents) and I got a gift card to Lowes, lol. The rule was that I had to use it to buy shelves! It was perfect timing because my handyman Dad came a few days later and went with me to pick them out and installed them! Say hello to my tiny (yes if I had backed up anymore you would be getting a picture of our seriously underused bowflex) craft space!

I'm planning on making some cute curtains and whatnot, but I'm excited to actually have my own little space to do what I want with:)

So onto 2008! I really am feeling excited about the possibilities that this year holds! Corey's new job, having a baby in a few months, craft projects, everything:) I really want to focus this year on becoming healthy. There's the obvious physical health, but I also want to make sure that my kids are emotionally healthy (need to spend more one-on-one time with them), we're more spiritually healthy (more prayer, scripture study, etc.), and I have a healthier home all around (yes Flylady I need you:) So do you think I can do all of that, lol? I always think about being more healthy as far as eating and exercise is concerned, but I usually don't get very far. I've been really thinking about it lately more than usual though. My "chunkiness" started when I was 5 or 6 and I have stayed with me ever since. Grace is now that age and I've really started noticing how much her eating habits are starting to change. She's getting a lot less picky and instead of just trying to get her to eat, she's asking for more. I don't want to be obsessed about it because I hate that and I don't care if she's totally thin, I've just realized over the holidays how important it is for me to start making healthier choices for me family as much as for myself. So after all of that babbling, lol, here's to a healthy 2008 for me and for you!

Here are a few recent layouts!
